MAT Proficiency Test

The monocyte activation test (MAT) is a test based on the human reaction to pyrogens that cause fever and is widely used as an alternative to the rabbit pyrogen test. Its basic principle is that Toll-like receptors mediate the stimulation of blood monocytes to produce pro-inflammatory cytokines in response to various pyrogens. The level of released IL-1ß was determined by classical IL-1ß ELISA. The method can be used to detect a wide range of pyrogens, including Gram-positive and Gram-negative organisms, yeast, viruses, and parasites, etc. MAT can also provide new solutions for products that have proven problematic in other in vitro endotoxin tests, such as drugs that cause immunological responses, drugs that affect thermoregulation (such as antipyretics and steroids), certain blood-derived products, detergents, and products that interfere with clotting, etc.

Due to the complexity of the experiment and the demands of the market, we offer MAT proficiency tests to provide quality assurance to laboratories performing MAT. Based on our advanced platform and professional technicians, we are capable of offering high-quality MAT audits.
