Endotoxins are toxic molecules present in microorganisms such as bacteria, fungi, and viruses. It is usually composed of lipopolysaccharide (LPS) and lipopeptide polysaccharide (Lipid A), which is considered to be one of the main pathogenic factors of many infectious diseases and widely exists in nature. Endotoxin activates the body's immune system by binding to Toll-like receptors (TLR) on host cells, causing a series of infectious diseases, such as meningitis, sepsis, and pneumonia.
